Klitschko Ibragimov: Negotiations Close to Being Completed For February Bout

International Boxing Federation heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (49-3, 44 knockouts) is reportedly close to completing negotiations for a unification bout with undefeated World Boxing Organization heavyweight champion Sultan Ibragimov (22-0-1, 17 KOs) accoring to Germany’s Die Welt daily news. If all goes as planned, the signing should take place this week, says Ibragimov promoter Leon Margules. Ibragimov, 32, is coming off an easy 12-round unanimous decision over Evander Holyfield last month in Moscow, Russia.

However, things won’t be so easy this time for Ibragimov, because 6′7″ Wladimir Klitschko, 31, is considered to be the best heavyweight in the division, and will literally be towering over the 6′2″ Ibragimov. Considered one of the faster punchers in the division, Ibragimov will be at a disadvantage in this area as well, as Klitschko is even faster and punches much harder.
