Inkin Decisions Bruer
Undefeated Russian World Boxing Super middleweight Denis Inkin (32-0, 24 KOs) won a harder than expected 12-round unanimous decision over over challenger Martin Abel Bruer (19-2, 12 KOs) on Saturday night in Dresdan, Germany. Inkin was dropped in round two, after getting hit with a huge right hand from Bruer. However, Inkin got up and surived the round while under tremendous fire from Bruer, who was giving his all stop the Russian. In rounds two through six, Bruer continued connecting with big right hands and stingining jabs, keeping Inkin on the defensive most of the time and unable to unload with his trademark whiplash hooks to the body.
In rounds 7-12, Bruer began to tire under the pressure that Inkin was putting on him. Inkin punished Bruer with beautiful hooks and huge uppercuts on the inside, snapping Bruer’s head on numerous occasions when Inkin was able to get inside on him. Bruer was stunned in the 10th round after getting hit with a left-right combination by Inkin, and was forced to hold on to avoid getting hit with more shots.
The final judges’s scores were 117-111, 117-110 and 117-110, giving the decision to the 29 year-old Inkin.
