Andy Lee Stops Thomas

Young undefeated Irish middleweight sensation Andy Lee (13-0, 10 KOs) stopped Marcus Thomas (10-3, 4 KOs) in the 1st round on Thursday night at the Compuware Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. Lee, 23, wasted little time in the first round, attacking Thomas with huge hooks to the body and head, driving him back continuously. Lee’s punches were lightning fast, as he mixed them up well to the body and head, keeping Thomas off balance. The end came suddenly in the 1st round when Lee landed a pulverizing left hook to the head, dropping Thomas like a ton of bricks to the canvas.

The referee Ansel Stewart moved in quickly and stopped the fight at 1:13 of the 1st round. Lee is trained by legendary trainer Emanuel Steward, who also trains IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and WBO welterweight champion Kermit Cintron, among many others. Lee is considered by many one of the top - if not the best - middleweight prospects in boxing, and is almost guaranteed to be a champion some day.
